Scuba Diving Procedures for Certified Divers
General Dive Procedures
Please bring your dive certificate and log book along. If you forgot both, a dive instructor has to evaluate your diving skills on a check dive. Make sure you are healthy and fit for the upcoming scuba diving activities. Most dive spots are very easy to dive at; some are more challenging because of the depths and currents involved. If you haven’t dive for a while a quick check-up dive is requested for the safety of our divers and dive guides.
Shore Diving
Shore Diving: Just in front of the dive center is a healthy and colorful coral reef. It slopes gradually to about 10m / 30f until it drops vertically to 50m / 170f. The house reef is a heaven for beginner divers and experienced divers alike.
Boat Diving
Boat diving is very easy. One prepares the equipment that is automatically carried to the boat. Many dive spots are just 10-20 minutes from the dive center. After entering the water, the current carries you along the wall. Divers surface when they run low on air and the boat will pick them up. All dives along the coastline are wall- and drift dives.
Boat dives scheduled at 9am in the morning and 1:30 pm in the afternoon. Generally 2 dives are conducted in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. At least 2 divers are requested for boat diving activities.
Day Trip Diving
The marine sanctuaries of Talima, Nasuluan, Hilutungan, Cabilao and the San Juan Wreck offer the best diving in the area. We organize day trips to these islands regularly. Usually day trips start at 9am and 2 dives are conducted. A lunch pack and soft drinks are included in the package price.
Night Diving
Most night diving activities are conducted just in front of the dive center, at our house reef. Preparation for the night dive start as early as 6 pm, since its getting dark in the tropics at this time year around. By 6:30 pm divers descend to enter the amazing world of night creatures on the reef.
Cave & Cavern Diving
Only a few hundred meters from the dive center is one of the most famous dive spots of Mactan Island, Marigondon Cave. The cave is located in a about 35m / 140f and a challenge for every scuba diver. Due to the depth and currents involved, diving in Marigondon Cave is restricted to PADI Advanced Open Water divers only, or divers holding an equivalent dive certification.
Wreck Diving
The San Juan Ferry in Liloan, Cebu, sunk in the year 2000. The wreck rests on the bottom of a lagoon in a depth around 50m / 170f with the deck in 35m / 140f. The diving is amazing but restricted to PADI Advanced Open Water divers only, or divers holding an equivalent dive certification.
